The Veteran Services Specialist works with military members (current and prior) to provide counseling and care coordination. They serve as liaison between the client and the VA and other community providers, including but not limited to primary care providers, mental health providers, and psychiatrists. They serve as a liaison between clients and County Veteran Services Officers to facilitate disability claims and compensation.

Eligibility Criteria
Anyone currently serving or having previously served in the U.S. military.

Important Notice: Care Connections of Northern Iowa Will Close Operations on June 30, 2025

As part of Iowa’s statewide reorganization of behavioral health and disability services, Care Connections of Northern Iowa (CCNIA) will cease all operations effective June 30, 2025. Clients will be transitioned to new service coordination under the awarded Administrative Services Organization and Disability Access Points.

Providers are requested to submit all final invoices for services rendered prior to July 1, 2025, no later than August 10, 2025.
