Elderbridge Agency on Aging–Health, Prevention, & Wellness

Health, prevention and wellness programs are critical to ensuring that older Iowans are informed about and have access to services and evidence-based activities that can significantly improve their health, function and quality of life and reduce the need for more costly medical interventions. Studies have found that the Older Americans Act Nutrition Program promotes good health, improves nutritional status and increases socialization among participants. Congregate Meals are hot, nutritious meals served in Clay County at Occasions (104 E 4th St, Spencer). Home Delivered meals are available if unable to visit the congregate meal site. Other Elderbridge programs include: Nutrition Education, Nutrition Counseling, Fresh Conversations, and Iowa Cafe. Wellness programs include: Tai Chi, Walk with Ease, Matter of Balance, Stepping On, and Fall Prevention.
