Stigma Associated with Substance Use Disorders Training
Addiction related stigma affects people in different ways. As a result, there is a wealth of ways in which people understand, perceive, and define stigma and the effects of stigma on people with a substance use disorder. The goals of this training include: 1) Recognize the three types of stigma associated with people that have a substance use disorder (SUD); 2) Identify common perceptions, beliefs, and behaviors that promote or constitute stigma; 3) Describe the problems and consequences caused by stigma; 4) Identify strategies for stigma change.
