Health, prevention and wellness programs are critical to ensuring that older Iowans are informed about and have access to services and evidence-based activities that can significantly improve their health, function and quality of life and reduce the need for more costly medical interventions. These programs include congregate meals, nutrition counseling and education, and healthy movement.

A growing number of older Iowans are choosing to join or stay in the workforce well past the traditional retirement age. But whether they are working by choice or out of economic necessity, many find the job market to be quite challenging.
Elderbridge Agency on Aging–Family Caregiver Support
The Family Caregiver Program works to provide family caregivers with the resources they need to enhance and extend their ability to care for a loved one. Caregiver Support Groups provide you with an opportunity to connect with other family caregivers. Training & Education provides information that will assist you in your caregiving role. Respite Care offers temporary, substitute supports for your care recipient in order to provide you with a break.

Elder Abuse Prevention & Awareness works to provide education and develop programs and policies that can prevent elder abuse in any of its forms, including physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse or exploitation, financial exploitation, denial of critical care and self-neglect.
IowaWorks–Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Ace (WIOA) Title 1 Program
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title 1 Program offers guidance to help people define and achieve their education and employment goals. There are many programs available, at no cost to the individual.

People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
