The Youth Activity mini-grant is available to youth age birth to age 18 residing in Clay County. The Youth Activity mini-grant is designated to be a "payer of last resort," and will pay up to $100 per child for expenses such as registration fees and the purchase of equipment needed for a youth to participate in activities.

Activities funded in the past include, but are not limited to fees for: football, soccer, t-ball, baseball, softball, girl scouts, boy scouts, dance costumes, swimming pool passes, swimming lessons, wrestling, camps, art classes, athletic physicals, shoes/cleats, team warm-up/travel gear, CNA testing fee, driver's education class fee, etc.

The fund will not be able to pay for ongoing monthly fees to participate in an activity.

Eligibility Criteria
Youth Activity Mini-grants are based on available funding and first come, first served basis. 1) The child must reside in Clay County; 2) The child must be age birth to age 18; 3) The family must have a demonstrated need for assistance; 4) The family system may only apply and receive one Youth Activity mini-grant per child, once in a 12 month rolling time period.
Instructions for Referral

1. A Professional Family Advocate (PFA) may request a digital copy of the application by emailing claycounty.cac@gmail.com

2. The PFA working with the family must request, complete and submit the mini-grant application on behalf of the family.
NOTE: Applications will not be accepted directly from the family.

3. The application must include all information.
NOTE: The mini-grant is for future youth activity, not to cover an outstanding balance on an already completed activity.

4. Email the completed application to claycounty.cac@gmail.com

5. A decision regarding funding of the mini-grant is based in part on available funding and will be made in 1-3 business days.

6. If approved, the PFA will be notified by email and asked to notify the family of the award amount.

7. A payment will be made by check directly to the appropriate entity (Community Ed, School District, YMCA, etc.).
