Discovery House Spencer Campus is a sober-living program. It currently has 7 beds and serves male or female individuals who are impacted by substance abuse, mental health, homelessness, or domestic violence. Residents are provided with support and resources to become independent with permanent housing and an active recovery program. Discovery House offers housing and support for up to 12 months with ongoing resources and support after completing the program. Discovery House also operates two additional sober-living houses on its Spirit Lake Campus.

Eligibility Criteria

Individuals over the age of 18 are eligible if they experience any of the following: substance use, mental health challenges, homelessness, or domestic violence (or any combination of these). Evaluations are done at intake. No income restrictions or requirements. Room rate is $75 per week and living arrangements are coed. Individuals registered as sex offenders are not eligible. Eligibility criteria is the same for both Spencer and Spirit Lake campuses.

Instructions for Referral

Referrals can come both providers and self-referral. For providers, please email discoveryhousedirector@gmail.com and include: name, date of birth, individual’s phone number/email, reason for referral, and your contact information. If self-referring, please contact Discovery House either by phone or email and schedule an interview. Upon approval and availability, the individual may relocate to Discover House. If there is no availability, the individual will be added to a pre-approved waitlist and other resources would be explored.
