Grand Avenue Community Outreach (GACO) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that provides outreach and social services to residents of Spencer, Clay County, and Northwest Iowa. GACO is open M-F 9am-2pm with a community meal served 5pm-6:30pm Mondays and Thursdays. Outreach services available include food and clothing. His Hands Extended clothing outreach is available the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, 9am-noon, and clothing outreach plus food outreach is available the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, 1pm-4pm.

Eligibility Criteria
Grand Avenue Community Outreach serves everyone. Food Bank recipients will need to fill out an eligibility form.

Important Notice: Care Connections of Northern Iowa Will Close Operations on June 30, 2025

As part of Iowa’s statewide reorganization of behavioral health and disability services, Care Connections of Northern Iowa (CCNIA) will cease all operations effective June 30, 2025. Clients will be transitioned to new service coordination under the awarded Administrative Services Organization and Disability Access Points.

Providers are requested to submit all final invoices for services rendered prior to July 1, 2025, no later than August 10, 2025.
