Project Recovery Iowa offers services to individuals, families and communities affected by disaster whether it be natural or a man-made event. Services include:

Individual and group counseling
Basic supportive or educational contact
Community networking and support
Assessments, referrals, and resources

Project Recovery Iowa is a FEMA a funded grant called the Crisis Counseling Assistance and Training Program and is administered by Iowa Health and Human Services.

Eligibility Criteria
Project Recovery Iowa services are free and confidential for all Iowans affected by disaster.

Project Recovery Iowa can be contacted by the Iowa Concern hotline at 800-447-1985. The Iowa Concern hotline is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can also be a place to call for free, confidential, and anonymous stress counseling. You may also request free assistance here.

Important Notice: Care Connections of Northern Iowa Will Close Operations on June 30, 2025

As part of Iowa’s statewide reorganization of behavioral health and disability services, Care Connections of Northern Iowa (CCNIA) will cease all operations effective June 30, 2025. Clients will be transitioned to new service coordination under the awarded Administrative Services Organization and Disability Access Points.

Providers are requested to submit all final invoices for services rendered prior to July 1, 2025, no later than August 10, 2025.
