Provides mental health services at the inpatient level for adults.

Eligibility Criteria
18 years and older, mental health diagnosis primary: manic, psychosis, suicidal ideation/homicidal ideation, able to manage own Activities of Daily Living (ADL). Cannot have dementia, intellectual disability, autism, violent tendencies, or assistive devices (wheelchair, walker, etc).
Instructions for Referral

Generally individuals present through a hospital emergency department with specific labs requested, medically stable, less than 80 alcohol level. They will have a psychiatric evaluation recommending inpatient treatment. Referral is made to our unit for review with our staff and provider. Acceptance is based off criteria and the milieu of the unit and appropriate bed available.

Important Notice: Care Connections of Northern Iowa Will Close Operations on June 30, 2025

As part of Iowa’s statewide reorganization of behavioral health and disability services, Care Connections of Northern Iowa (CCNIA) will cease all operations effective June 30, 2025. Clients will be transitioned to new service coordination under the awarded Administrative Services Organization and Disability Access Points.

Providers are requested to submit all final invoices for services rendered prior to July 1, 2025, no later than August 10, 2025.
