Telecommunications Access Iowa (TAI) is a statewide program that provides specialized telecommunications equipment to eligible Iowans who have hearing loss or speech difficulties via vouchers for little to no cost. We offer vouchers for specialized telecommunication equipment, such as smartphones, tablets, captioned telephones, amplified phones, and more.
Eligibility Criteria
1) Have a hearing loss or difficulty speaking on the phone; 2) Be an Iowa resident; 3) Be at least 5 years of age or able to use the telecommunications equipment; 4) Have phone service now or plan on getting it (not needed for the wireless requirements); 5) Confirm that the equipment you are asking for would make telecommunications use easier for you; 6) Confirm your income meets the Gross Annual Family Income eligibility chart
