Crisis Energy Payments: For clients that are disconnected or in danger of being disconnected; Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): A federally-funded program, assists low-income homeowners and renters to meet the cost of home heating by providing a one-time payment to the heating utility. This program is NOT designed to pay your total winter heating cost. The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) assists low – income homeowners and renters who are facing a loss of water service or have been disconnected already. Households can receive payment assistance for past-due charges.

Eligibility Criteria
LIHEAP: Applications from the general public are available November 1-April 30th. Meet income guidelines; Must have a heating and/or electric vendor, including an account number for the address you live at to receive the moratorium protection; Households with a member 60 years of age or older, those who are disabled and those in crisis can apply beginning October 1st. LIHWAP: Meet income guidelines; Have a water burden and a current water crisis: Already disconnected from water service, Received a disconnection notice, Is currently on a payment plan with the vendor and cannot make the next payment; Must prove Legal U.S. status
